About Nu-Rave music

New Rave (or, Nu Rave) is a combination of various different types of music like Electronic, Rock, Indie, Techno, Hip-House and Electro Breakbeat. Music publication NME is largely responsible for popularising the term throughout 2006 and 2007.
The aesthetics of the New Rave scene are similar to those of the original Rave scene, being mostly centred around psychedelic visual effects with glowsticks, neon lights and fluorescent clothing often present.

The Old Firestation held the first ever We Are Your Friends event, featuring a night of Nu Rave Music and visual effects. The event has continued to be a success over the last 18 months, bringing people to Bournemouth from all over the country.
Other Nu Rave artists who have appeared at The Old Firestation include Hadouken!, Shit Disco and Kid Carpet.
